Ron sighed. “I can’t believe this. Who thought this was a great idea?” he thought miserably as yet again someone was singing off key. A karaoke bar, whose bright idea was that? Oh, right.
A woman with long light brown curly hair ran up on to the stage where the Karaoke was. Her body was curved in all the places that a woman should be curved. She had long legs and a killer smile. “Hey there and welcome to your celebration of being out of school ten years!”
”nice to see you again Hermione.” Ron lied.
“Where have you been hiding your selves all these years?” She smiled widely. “You all look the same.”
That was a lie, Ron knew that. His red hair was down to his chin, his blue eyes were gloomy and dark, and he had a light pink scar going from under his left eye to his ear. “Humph.”
“I got married, isn’t that great?” Hermione smiled the way she always had.
“Did you now?” Ron asked. He already knew. It had been all over the papers. After all, Hermione had become assistant to the Minister of Magic.
“You remember Vincent, right?” She asked as the crowd started to laugh.
“Oh, yeah.” Ron smile was faint and quick.
“Well, enough about me. Let’s get this party started!” Hermione walked off. A Hufflepuff ran up there and grabbed the mike.
“Your part of the Hogwarts party, mister…Weasley, Ron?” A waitress with short dish water blond hair asked. She wore a white dress shirt and black pants.
“That’s a good guess.” Ron looked down at his name tag.
“What would your mother say about you sitting back here alone?” she asked.
“What would my mother say? That‘s rich.” Ron laughed slightly.
“Let me guess, old love?” She asked quietly.
“What makes you think that…Butterfly” Ron squinted his eyes at her name tag.
“I know, I know. That’s why your back here, right? Because they didn’t choose you?” She sat down across from him.
“Who? What are-” Ron blushed slightly.
“You know damn well who I mean.” Butterfly looked up at a table near the front. Hermione was speaking while touching a tall man with black hair and a one eye brow. Across from them Two men were sitting there laughing. One had jet-black hair and green eyes. The other had silver eyes and whitish blond hair. They were holding hands. A woman sat next to them. She had hair like a raven her nose was like a pug and her eyes were brown like chocolate. She looked back in Ron’s direction.
“Can I have a flaming whiskey?” Ron asked looking away quickly.
“Drinking doesn‘t solve anything. If you love-”
“Can we please just not talk about my love life or lack there of? “ Ron asked quickly
“What do you think of the party?” Butterfly ignored him.
“It’s god awful.” Ron winced as the Hufflepuff’s voice cracked a little.
“Ron, why don’t you ask them to dance? Or you could sing?” she asked.
“No way am I going up there to make a bloody fool of my self.” Ron sat back in his chair.
“Believe in your self, and they will know your true feelings.” Butterfly winked at Ron and went back up to the front where everyone else was.
((*((^.^))*))
Ron downed his third whiskey. He looked up at the stage, it was empty. There was the sound of a lot of people talking at once. He gulped. “Maybe she was right. You could just sing it to him, no one would know but you.” Ron told him self.
“Come on Harry, I am so bored, can we leave now?” Draco drawled.
“Just one more singer, Draco, love.” Harry caressed Draco’s face.
Ron sighed heavily and walked past all the tables up to the front. The talking stopped as he passed, as if they hadn’t seen him there before. He toke a step past Harry and Draco‘s table and headed to the bathroom.
“God!” Ron punched the mirror in the bathroom. The glass sliced into his fist. He wanted to scream. “If I have to watch another minuet of that, I’ll kill my self.”
“Seems a little drastic, don’t you think weasel?” Draco Malfoy was leaning up against the door frame. His blond hair was down to his shoulders. His gray eyes glistened.
“What d0 you want Ferret?” Ron spat back. He hid his bloody hand behind his back.
“Well, not much.” Draco walked over to where Ron stood. “You’ve been hiding your self this whole tired party, why?” Draco raised his eye brow.
“That’s none of your business.” Ron glared.
“Is it possible that you’re upset because everyone else is happy, hm?”
“What gives you that idea, Malfoy?” Ron smirked.
“Tell me weasel, how does it feel to be alone?” Draco asked, his eyes ran up and down Ron.
“Who said I was alone, ferret?” Ron shifted uncomfortably.
“The mud blood and potter both have someone, every one but you. That has to be painful.” Draco smiled gleefully. “So you’re poor, miserable, old, ugly, and alone? How delightful. How deliciously low. How positively dirty.”
“Shut your face Malfoy!” Ron lifted his hand back and brought it forward with a sharp pain his hand connected with Malfoy’s face. Draco put his hand to his face.
“You hit me.” Draco’s eyes were suddenly full of panic and fear.
“Damn right, I did.” Ron felt his face grow red, he looked away. He’d always pictured this moment but with more satisfaction.
“You are in love, aren’t you?” Draco asked.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” Ron yelled. “Who ever said I was in love in the first place? It wasn’t me.”
“I hit a sour spot didn’t I?” Draco smiled.
“You don’t know when to stop do you?” Ron sighed heavily. “What do I have to do to make you leave me alone?”
“I want you to sing a song, weasel.” Draco did his patent eye brow wiggle.
“Hell no. You can just go bugger your self.” Ron crossed his arms.
“You’re afraid aren’t you?”
“No. I just don’t want to sing.”
“Probably a bad singer, mugger lovers often are.” Draco drawled lazily.
“I won’t, not if my life depended on it.” Ron sighed and headed for the door, he stopped before opening it. “Fine, one.”
“I knew you would.” Draco puffed out his chest.
“How do you do that?” Ron asked.
“You mean know what to say to get you to do what I want? It’s a gift, really.” Draco smiled.
“I’m doing this because I want to, not because you want me to.” Ron pushed open the door.
“Of course, don’t you always?” Draco called.
“Come on; let’s get this bollocks of an idea over with.” Ron held the door open.
“Oh, right.” Draco cleared his throat and walked out of the door.
Ron walked out of the bathroom. Draco’s face was still bleeding as he sat down next to Harry. Harry fawned over Draco.
“Draco what happened to you? Are you alright?” Harry was frantic.
“An animal attacked me.” Draco said coolly.
“…” Pansy looked over at Ron. She smiled widely at him. Her cheeks went pink with a giggle. Her short black hair looked soft and she was quiet cuter then she was back in school. “An Animal? Really?”
“Shut it Pansy.” Draco glared.
“It’s okay, sweetie.” Harry smiled at Draco.
“Having fun sweetie pie? “ Pansy waved her finger tips at Draco. She was giving Ron a chance to stall, he would remind him self to kiss her or something later.
“Hey Ron! Aren’t you going to ask some one to dance?” Hermione smiled at Ron happily.
“Oh, I would but Parkinson looks comfortable. Think I‘ll sing instead.” Ron watched as Draco’s mouth dropped.
“Parkinson? You’re going to sing to Pansy? “Draco’s face was contorted in a rage.
“Ron? Are you feeling all right?” Hermione asked.
“Jealous?” Pansy smiled playfully.
“You liked Pansy?” Harry looked at Ron with a puzzled look.
“Oh just stop being a prat and go up and sing.” Draco pointed over to the mike.
Ron walked slowly up the stairs to the stage. He felt the chatter stop as he got up to the stage. There was a Karaoke screen in front of him. He closed his eyes.
/believe in your self and they will know your true feelings. / Ron sighed quickly. /okay, just breathe, you can do this. /
“Hurry up and sing!” Draco drawled loudly.
“You can do it Ron.” Harry cheered.
Ron cleared his throat. “Faint by Linkin Park.”
The music started and Ron prayed that he wouldn’t mess up.
//“I am
Little bit of loneliness
A little bit of disregard
A handful of complaints
But I can't help the fact
That everyone can see these scars.”// Ron was nervous. He smiled shyly as he heard Lavender brown scream his name. He opened his eyes and looked forward.
//“I am
What I want you to want
What I want you to feel
But it's like
No matter what I do
I can't convince you
To just believe this is real
So I let go
Watching you
Turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I’m not
But I’ll be here ’Cause you're all I got.”// Ron’s eyes locked with Draco’s gray pools. Draco was nervous. He looked away but Ron kept looking.
“//I am
A little bit insecure
A little unconfident
'Cause you don't understand
I do what I can
But sometimes I don't make sense
I am
What you never want to say
But I’ve never had a doubt
It's like no matter what I do
I can't convince you
For once just to hear me out
So I let go
Watching you
Turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I’m not
But I’ll be here 'Cause you're all I got.”// Draco was fidgeting in under Ron’s gaze. He kept looking at Ron then down again. Harry was watching Draco then he looked at Ron with the same puzzled look.
“//I can't feel
The way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal
This damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
No Hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me
Like it or not
Right now!//” Ron smiled at Draco. The music stopped. People were cheering and whistling but Ron ignored them all. “Next time you fall in love, ferret, it better be with me.” He said smiling.
